HAVE TRAILER WILL TRAVEL…

Roger and I want to do some world traveling while we are able. So, I (who have never been anywhere or done anything) would like to start here at home. On our way back from Longview with the trailer we stopped at Multnomah Falls.

It was cold slippery and wet but, it was beautiful.

This is the view from the bottom of the falls.

Photos taken on the trail up to the bridge in the first two photos.

The view from the upper bridge.

Okay, that’s one stop down and about one million to go. After that we can start on some of the places outside the United States.

We Have a Trailer

Yes, I know, we already had a trailer; one that was badly in need of new skin, new door, new windows, new awning, new brakes, and new (fill in the blank). It is/was more of a project we were going to tackle before we moved here and we were in no hurry to get it done. We brought our "project" along with us when we moved here.

Unfortunately, dragging the poor little guy over the Grapevine really tore it up (the awning fell off; the door sprang open and is now held closed with a bungee cord; all of the bouncing caused the front end to sag and the skin to become impaled on the tong). Anyway, we assessed the damage and determined that it could all be fixed. It might even be a fun project for us. Things change…

Last summer we made a trip to see the Ohme Gardens and the Petrified Ginkgo Forest and spent the night in two different hotels both with equally uncomfortable beds. On the way there we saw the RV group camped by the river; in a scenic by-way, or in a park. It looked like such fun. We talked about what we had to do to get the little trailer to a usable level. It seemed doable too.

Then we started listing all of the projects we have to work on. All of them fun and some of them time sensitive. Renovation of the trailer was not listed very high on the list.

So, now we have a new trailer; not really a new one but new to us. It’s a 2005 Komfort Trailer; just perfect for two people. Presently it’s tucked away in the barn. We’ll be using it to go to Seattle next month for a visit with the kids and do some sight seeing. It should be a lot of fun.

BTW: Does anyone want a fun project to work on???

Happy '07 everyone...

Roger and I put a snow plow on the front of the John Deere lawn mower. We were afraid we wouldn't be using it. Boy, were we wrong. These photos were taken on Thursday. It snowed again yesterday.

Doesn't Roger look happy? I think he's praying for more snow. At least until the novelty wears off.
