Loper...

Ever wonder if a running four legged animal ever has all four feet off completely off the ground? Okay, so he's cheating a little.

Loper was doing some small game hunting in the field in front of the house (he’s a very stealthy cat) until we opened the door to take the photo. Then it was a dead run back to the safety of the junipers.

Merry Christmas everyone...

Here is the view of our Christmas tree inside the house. After using the same tree for more than 30 years we decided to purchase a new tree (complete with lights). Sure makes it easier to put up and take down.

Besides, the old tree lost all of it's needles years ago. Have you ever tried to decorate a stick? (just kidding)

You know, I never have believed in killing a tree just so we could enjoy the smell of pine for a few days. It just never seemed right to me.

We also decorated one of the outdoor trees (there are 10). We were going to do them all but sort of ran out of time. So, here's the first one.

The tree is even pretty at night.

The tree hasn't stopped any traffic yet. I guess it's not as spectacular as the lights on the hill behind the house.

My goal for next year is two trees. Roger wants to do the remaining nine.

We'll see...

Either way, I'm afraid the star on the hill may have to wait awhile.

Roger and I celebrated Christmas together. We enjoyed the quiet time and a chance to sit and talk about our plans for the coming year. The only thing that might have made this Christmas more memorable was to have other family members here as well. Maybe next year.

Here's hoping you have (had) a wonderful Christmas.

DINING OUT...

Do you ever notice the variety of birds 'hanging out' at the bird feeder. Reminds me of a group of employees at the water cooler.

Hmmm. Do you suppose they're talking about me???

Something is eating my roses...

He won't last long. This is only one of several shots I took through the dining room window (with a flash). Too bad I couldn't mask out my reflection in the glass.

It's a tad foggy here today. The bridge (which you probably cannot make out) is just to the right of the large tree in the foreground. The bridge is also about halfway to the paved road. The paved road is 1/10th of a mile from the house. You can figure the visibility if you wish, I'm not even going to try.

Needless to say, my car isn't leaving the garage today. I'll walk to the mailbox.
